Two Success

Success is a wonderful feeling. I’m sure you've experienced it before. Whether it comes from running across that finish line, getting that diploma, quitting that bad habit, winning that game, or whatever else you can think of; people tend to experience that temporary moment of "hard work pays off" happiness. Right?

It is a great feeling indeed. However, success doesn't come easy. It takes time, dedication and you have to be focused. The following two things may repeatedly happen: You may Fail; You will Try Again.

Success is different for everyone. It's specifically tailored to what an individual wants to accomplish or truly desires. You need to have a want. You have to want to become the director, a teacher, or a famous actor. You have to want to win that championship or be the employee of the quarter. It’s easy to want something. The hard part is actually getting it as you may fail at times.  But you have to learn from your failure. What happens if you keep failing?

If you keep failing, you keep trying!
Persistence overcomes resistance!

“Practice makes perfect”. We've all heard that saying before. Essentially, that’s what you have to do when you keep trying.  If you want to become a director, you have practice, brush up on your skills, and keep applying to that kind of position.  Over time, you will eventually land that interview and get that job. If you want to win that championship, you have to practice, fail during practice, fail at practice again, eventually win at practice, and then you’ll eventually win that championship.

If you truly want to succeed at anything, you must be willing to try again, again, and again until you achieve your goal. This is where it gets difficult for most people as it takes time, dedication, and persistence to get over that wall of failure. It takes time to develop and grow. Success doesn't happen overnight. It happens over time and failure.

No matter what the scenario is, everyone wants to be successful. However, to succeed, just remember to accept these two facts: You may Fail; You must Try Again!

Want to test this out? Try and do 40 push-ups straight! I’ll give you a month to accomplish this.
Eventually you will succeed at this, but I’m willing to bet that two things will repeatedly happen.

Too Plan (For all College Students)

Has your fall semester started yet?

Most likely it did, or it will start within the next week or so.  You've purchased your books  and put your “focus” hats on so you can get ready to blast through those classes with A’s and B’s.  Agree?  At least that’s what everyone’s goal seems to be. You should always try to pass each test and quiz with an A. But in addition to that, you should do one more thing: plan your moves too!

Often times, students overlook the many resources offered at their college or university. Which is understandable as the workload can get very demanding at times.  But as a student, you are going to school for a reason. In most cases, that reason is to start a prosperous career upon graduation. Right? You want to get that job you always wanted.
Well, before you know it, you will be walking across that stage on graduation day. Time will pass quickly so you should plan and find resources to help you find a job within your desired career path; college is your first check point.

Every college or university offers different resources.  But there are two resources that I recommend you to take advantage of ASAP.

1)      Career Office

I bet there’s a career advisor somewhere on campus. Guess who they're there for? You! You should plan to stop by that office on your own, the earlier the better. They can help you with everything from resumes, interview skills, job searching, internships, to volunteering. An advisor will let you know about all the career fairs, events, and activities you should know about. Planning this out will get you one step closer to being ready on graduation day.

2)      Clubs or Committees

No matter what your desired career path may be, you should be able to find a related club or committee on campus. It’s something you can partake in to develop more knowledge and skills for your career. You will also be able find other students with similar goals and career choices. They can be your support system throughout your undergrad years as they will take the same classes you will take.  

 If there isn't club a committee for you, start one of your own.  This can be your opportunity to gain some leadership skills. Staff and faculty can help you get started. Ask around and see!

Go ahead and knock out this semester. Study hard, focus, and get those A’s!
Just Remember: Plan Too!

Two Gym

Thinking about getting back in the gym?

Well, before you get back to your intense calorie burning muscle building fat shredding workout out routine, take two of these questions. Why? & How?

Everyone gets excited when they decide on starting a new workout routine, program, training, or DVD. This excitement creates a huge boost in motivation and individuals dive right into their freshly reinvigorated lifestyle and passion for exercising. There is a slight change in diet, you never miss a day, you weigh yourself each morning, and you spend couple of hundred on protein bars, shakes, plus new workout gear. Then, after a few months, you come to halt. You start missing a few days and eventually miss a year.

This is the story for millions of people.  Everyone knows why they should go to the gym. You go for the health benefits. Why workout? That isn't the question. The question is: Why did you stop?

Two Common reason people stop:
--Too Busy: You just have too many obligations. Your plate is full.
--Too Hard: You feel extremely tired, beat, drained. You need a break.

Whatever your reason for stopping is, you stopped. 

So, before you actually get back in the gym.  The question is. How can you avoid the roadblock you ran into before?  If you’re too busy, make your workouts shorter and less time consuming.  Try working out 2 or 3 times a week to start.  If you feel overworked and drained, make your workout a little lighter. You don't have to make every workout intense for it to be effective.

Go ahead and get back in the gym!
